We have been featured in the Coventry Live for our fundraising for The Ups of Downs charity.
A Warwickshire farm shop and kitchen’s year of fundraising for a local charity supporting children with Down Syndrome and their families has got off to a flipping good start.
Farmers Fayre at Stoneleigh Park hosted the fundraiser on Shrove Tuesday for The Ups of Downs, which is based in Leamington and works throughout Warwickshire and surrounding counties.
Customers including people working at businesses and organisations based at Stoneleigh Park entered into the spirit by flipping dozens of freshly-made pancakes with donations reaching just under £150.
Nicola Reece, director of Farmers Fayre, said: “We ran a poll on social media to choose our charity of the year and had 2,000 votes with The Ups of Downs coming out on top.
“We’re delighted to be supporting the charity as they provide such valuable support to local families and our target is to raise £5,000 during the year.
“The pancake flipping got us off to a great start and our next fundraiser will be a rowing relay on World Down Syndrome Day on March 21 when teams at Stoneleigh Park will compete to row the 21 miles of the English Channel the fastest.”
